In fostering closer collaboration, Limkokwing and its training arm, Malaysia Design Innovation Centre, have signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with a growing number of industry partners.

One of the objectives is to lend support to State Governments, quasi-government organisations, multinationals and small- and medium-sized industries or enterprises in enhancing their creative capacity.

Through the creative resources of the university and MDI, the partners will cooperate in areas such as brand development, packaging design and research and development.

The Government of Botswana has invited Limkokwing-MDI to collaborate on a programme to promote the image of Botswana as a premier business and tourist destination in order to boost a major economic growth in its mining and non-mining sectors.
Cyberview Sdn Bhd, the proprietor of the SME Technopreneur Centre in Cyberjaya, will collaborate with Limkokwing-MDI in a wide range of activities, including design advancement, brand building and management, content creation, idea generation and research and development. A joint venture involving six investors, including Multimedia Development Corporation and Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd, Cyberview Sdn Bhd plans and designs the primary infrastructure of the 2,890-hectrare Cyberjaya Flagship Zone in two phases. It also provides office, commercial and residential spaces for sale or rent. Among the projects it has completed are the MDC Headquarters, Cyberview Lodge Resort & Spa, the Street Mall and City Command Centre for security and fire protection.
Celcom (Malaysia)

The MoU lays the groundwork for collaboration between the Institute of Printing, UK, (Malaysia branch) and Limkokwing-MDI to promote Malaysia as a regional centre for high-quality printing and a world-class centre for outsourcing print production and graphic communications. The partners will cooperate in projects for joint training and capacity building, designed to upgrade skills in innovative graphic communications.
Lembaga Kemajuan Tanah Persekutuan (FELDA)
FELDA and Limkokwing-MDI are to collaborate on efforts to achieve a new vision of a reinvigorated and dynamic agency. They will concentrate on the innovation of branding and packaging design for food, textiles, craft and other FELDA products. Also, they will work on joint capacity-building plans for the development and promotion of FELDA entrepreneurs.
Lewre – Roondy (M)
Lewré is Malaysia’s forest international footwear brand that has made its presence felt in the fashion capitals of the world including London, Paris, Milan, New York and Shanghai. It is a brand much sought after by stars and celebrities overseas for its stylish designs and fashionable appeal.
L’Oréal Malaysia is collaborating with Limkokwing to develop diploma and professional courses run by the university for hair design, make-up and skincare syllabus. The leader in hair and skincare expertise will provide curriculum support through placement programmes, lectures by industry leaders and field trips.
Malaysian Footwear Manufacturers Association
The accord allows the Malaysian Footwear Manufacturers Association and Limkokwing-MDI to map out strategies to reinforce Malaysia’s position and reputation as a leading producer and world-class exporter of quality and innovative footwear. The parties will conduct joint capacity-building programmes for the industry in brand enhancement and design innovation.
Malaysian Institute of Directors

The Malaysian Institute of Directors (MID) and Limkokwing-MDI aim to effectively promote world-class corporate governance in Malaysia. Both parties will reinforce the international image of Corporate Malaysia by collaborating in joint capacity-building programmes designed to enhance the profile and competency of company directors in the country.

Malaysia Printers Association
Through collaborative efforts, the Malaysia Printers Association and Limkokwing-MDI aim to make Malaysia an international hub for packaging services. They will focus their attention on branding and design services to promote the country as a packaging centre, as well as joint training and capacity-building programmes in branding and design innovation.

The collaboration between the Malaysia Furniture Entrepreneurs Association (MFEA) and Limkokwing-MDI enables the parties to focus on joint efforts to make Malaysia a leading name in quality and innovative furniture. The partners aim to strengthen the country’s reputation as a world-class furniture producer and exporter. They will also work on joint capacity-building programmes for the industry in branding and design innovation.


MICCI and Limkokwing-MDI will collaborate to create a platform for Small and Medium Industries to develop brands of international stature. An annual programme including award incentives will be implemented to achieve this aim.

The Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association/Malaysia Plastics Design Centre and Limkokwing-MDI are to work together to strengthen Malaysia’s position as the manufacturer of quality and innovative plastic products. They will also cooperate closely in brand development for the global marketplace and capacity-building programmes for manufacturers and designers in branding and design innovation.
Multimedia Development Corporation

They will also work towards the development of branding and packaging designs and jointly conduct research and development for halal food promotion.
