IMU pioneered the world’s first Partner Medical School programme, allowing a student to start their education in Malaysia while completing and earning a degree at an international university. Over the last two decades, IMU has grown from a medical college with 5 partner universities in 1992, to an internationally recognized higher education institution with more than 30 world class university partners in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, US, Ireland, China and UK. Through this collaboration, IMU has provided the opportunity for more than 3,000 students to complete their degrees at these prestigious universities.
The main campus of IMU is located in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Since 1999, IMU has established clinical schools in Seremban and Kuala Pilah (Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia) as well as Batu Pahat and Kluang (scheduled to open in 2013) (Johor, Malaysia). Currently, the University has over 3,300 students across its various programmes, with 2,880 students based at Bukit Jalil, while another 420 at the Clinical schools. IMU has also plays host to over 200 international students representing 30 countries worldwide.
To date, IMU offers a range of undergraduate programmes in medical and health sciences: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Nursing, Nursing Science, Dietetics with Nutrition, Nutrition, Psychology, Biomedical Science, Medical Biotechnology, Chiropractic, Chinese Medicine as well as postgraduate degrees: MSc an PhD in Medical and Health Sciences (by research), MSc in Public Health, MSc in Analytical and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and MSc in Molecular Medicine. IMU’s curriculum for its undergraduate programmes has been benchmarked to international standards and is accepted by international partner universities for credit transfer into relevant programmes. |
